2,2,6,6-Tetramethylheptane-3,5-dione
2,2,6,6-Tetramethylheptane-3,5-dione (TMHD) is produced by Connects Custom Manufacturing Department and based on an in-house developed process.
The major application of TMHD is as ligand for various rare earth metals and transition metals. TMHD-complexes of transition metals are relatively stable on the one hand and volatile on the other. Consequently, TMHD-complexed metals can be separated by distillation at relatively low temperatures. This gives access to highly pure metal-complexes, which can then be utilized as raw materials in CVD applications in electronics and sensors.
TMHD also seems to enhance the reaction rate in Cu-catalyzed Ullmann-couplings of diaryl ethers, allowing for lower reaction temperatures and shorter reaction times.
Shelf Life
Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is 12 months
