Con AAE 8 (Allylglylcolethoxylate-8EO)
Allylic alcohol ethoxylates (Con AAE 8) are key raw materials for a vast variety of silicons and silicon oils. The allylic group is reacted via transition-metal catalyzed hydrosilylation reaction with the Si-H-moiety at the silicon backbone.
Introducing the ethylene oxide part into the silicone alters the properties of the silicon, adding a hydrophilic part. The modified silicones are used as emulsions for various applications, e.g. in cosmetics or as defoamers.
Our Con AAE series is available in a vast variety of EO-numbers, ranging from 4 EO to more than 20 EO.
EO/PO block and random copolymers are also available upon request.
Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is 12 months.
