Hexafluoroglutaric anhydride
Hexafluoroglutaric anhydride (HFGA) is provided by Connect Chemicals under the tradename Confluor G. -
Hexafluoroglutaric anhydride (HFGA) is a perfluorated analogue of glutaric anhydride. It is a clear liquid with a medium boiling point (72 °C).
Applications
- The major application for HFGA is as special monomer in various high value, high performance applications. The perfluorated monomer incorporates high chemical resistance and electrical insulation capabilities into the final polymers.
- Confluor G polymers are used as secondary batteries, where they offer higher energy density and better cycle stability. They are raw material for high-quality resins and can even be found in contact lenses to achieve higher chemical stability.
Shelf Life
Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is 12 months.
