Stannous oxalate (SnOx)

Stannous Oxalate (SnOx) is a free flowing white powder soluble in acids, insoluble in water and acetone.

Stannous Oxalate (SnOx) might be used as a catalyst for the production of esters from acids and alcohols (normally diols, or glycols) with boiling points above 100°C. Upon completion of the esterification reaction, the insoluble Stannous Oxalate (SnOx)can be easily removed from the reaction mixture.

Stannous Oxalate (SnOx) can also be used in Stannous oral care compositions.
