Tungstendisulfide Inorganic Fullerenes

Tungsten disulfide (WS2) is one of the most lubricous materials known to science. The molecule offers excellent dry lubricity unmatched to any other substance, better than Molybdenum and Graphite.

Tungsten disulfide inorganic Fullerenes have been developed as a superior Extreme Pressure additives for Gear Oils, Greases, Metalworking Fluids, Compressor and Turbine Oils. It is based on a unique patented technology using solid Tungsten disulfide (WS2), multi layered fullerene-like particles (similar to nano-technology, with particle range between 120 – 280 nm.

Standard Tungsten disulfide 2H-WS are usually in the range of several microns (1-5 µm).

Thanks to this spherical geometry with hollow core it provides even higher impact resistance and create extreme smooth surface.

Tungsten disulfide Inorganic Fullerenes has excellent anti-wear properties even at very high load whilst showing outstanding resistance to temperature (-270°C to 450°C), shock (350.000 kg/cm2) and pressure (290 kbar).

The product is available in various formulations, designated to its specific usage area. It is soluble in wide variety of neat oils including mineral, naphthenic and synthetic oil.

Typical trate rate of 1% - 8%.

Tungsten disulfide inorganic Fullerenes are also available with water dispersion technology, as highly potent additives for cutting fluids, combining extreme pressure capabilities with highly effective (+20%) cooling properties, providing excellent surface finishing. Tungsten disulfide also creating a strong reduction of acid creation and the need for biocides.Furthermore it can be added to all types of water dilutable metalworking fluids – soluble oils, semi synthetics and synthetics.

Typical treat rate of 0.25% - 4% depending on the operation.


  • Typical application is to be integrated into lubricants and greases, designed for the most extreme operating conditions including high and ultra-low temperatures, high pressure and high vacuum, high load, high rotating speed, high radiation and corrosion.

Shelf Life

Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is 2 year in closed packaging.
