|Synonyms||1,9-Nonanedicarboxylic acid; Hendecanedioic acid; NSC 400241|
Undecandioic Acid (UDDA) is, like DDDA, which is also sold by Connect Chemicals, a medium-chain difunctional carboxylic acid with a total chain length of 11 carbon atoms.
It is used as raw material for the synthesis of polymers and polymer fibers (Polyamide) or diesters (plasticizers, lubricants), as additive in functional fluids for metal working and as corrosion inhibitor in aqueous systems.
In combination with Undecandioic acid, DDDA can be formulated to act as a highly efficient corrosion inhibitor in closed water systems, cutting fluids and other kinds of metal working fluids. The carboxylic acid groups adhere to the metallic surface, providing a water and oxygen-repelling layer.
UDDA is delivered as a white, free flowing powder or flakes in different purity grades (99%/95%).
Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is 12 months.
