Maleic acid copolymer (MACP)
Maleic acid copolymer (MACP) is a scale inhibitor for calcium carbonate and multifunctional formulation support agent in many industrial water treatment system.
Connect Chemicals is well recognized in the market as expert and capable partner for water treatment additives. Thanks to Connect Chemicals engineer experience we've developed a polymers series for water treatment including our Maleic Acid Copolymer (MACP).
Maleic acid copolymer (MACP) is approved from
- FDA (USA)
- 21 cfr 176.170-paper/paperboard-fatty foods
- 21 cfr 176.180- paper/paperboard-dry foods
- USDA (USA)
- G5: cooling and retort water
- G7: boilers, steamlines, cooling systems no food contact
- MITI (Japan)
- Japanese discharge regulations
Maleic Acid Copolymer (MACP) is soluble/miscible in Water and Ethylene glycol and methanol in all proportion.
If mixed with 50% caustic soda can be readily neutralized with evolution of heat
To avoid precipitation, please avoid to formulate Maleic Acid Copolymer (MACP) below pH 2.5 or above pH 7.5.
At in use concentrations Maleic Acid Copolymer (MACP) is stable across the entire pH range.
Maleic Acid Copolymer (MACP) is stable at temperatures up to 200°C.
Maleic Acid Copolymer (MACP) is not affected by chlorine or other oxidizing biocides under normal use conditions.
Maleic Acid Copolymer (MACP) is compatible with long chain nitrogen compounds, aliphatic amines and quaternary ammonium compounds.
Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is 12 months.
