Elixi-KON BA, Benzoic acid, is a white, crystalline solid with a sweet, aromatic odor. It is a natural substance that is found in a variety of plants, including gum benzoin, cranberries, and plums. 
Elixi-KON BA is also produced synthetically for use as a preservative active in a variety of different application areas like personal care and food. It is effective against a wide range of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and yeasts, and is often used to help prevent the growth of microorganisms and to extend the shelf life of a product.
In addition to its antimicrobial properties, Elixi-KON BA, Benzoic acid, is also used as a pH adjuster. It can help stabilize the pH of the product and improve its performance.
The efficacy of Elixi-KON BA depends on the pH value of the cosmetic formulations (pH max. 6). The efficiency is increased by reducing the pH value. Only the free organic acid form has a preservative activity.
