Preservatives
Elixi-KON PS, Potassium sorbate, is used in a variety of personal care and cosmetic products as a preservative active ingredient. It is effective against a wide range of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and yeasts, and is often used to help prevent the growth of microorganisms and extend the shelf life of the product.
The preservative activity of Elixi-KON PS depends on the final pH value of the cosmetic formulations (pH max. 6).
Elixi-KON PS, Potassium sorbate, is highly effective in the acidic pH range below 6.
To achieve a full spectrum efficacy, Elixi-KON PS should be combined with other preservative actives such as Elixi-KON SB (Sodium benzoate) and / or Elixi-KON NaDHA (Sodium dehydroacetate).
