2-Ethoxyethylcyanoacetate (2EOECA)
2-Ethoxyethylcyanoacetate (2-EOECA) is produced by Connects Custom Manufacturing Department. It is based on an in-house developed process that has been tailored to result in a very pure product with minimum impurities.
2-Ethoxyethylcyanoacetate is generally used as an intermediate in the synthesis of various special organic chemicals, e.g., in the production of merocyanine-based UV (A)-absorbers for cosmetic formulations (a), for herbicidal inhibitors of photosystem II (b) and as starting material in the synthesis of a Dinotefuran intermediate (c).
The UV-absorbing properties of the merocyanines prevent the skin from darkening.
2-Ethoxyethylcyanoacetate can be used as starting material for the preparation of special a-cyanoacrylates, which inhibit good performance as adhesives.
