Dehydroacetic acid

Dehydroacetic acid (DHA) is a pyrone derivative and has a white crystalline powder physical aspect. It is almost insoluble in water and moderately soluble in most organic solvents.

Applications

  • Preservative and Fungicide particularly indicated for food and cosmetic applications
  • Environmental friendly stabilizers for PVC films
  • Agrochemical : Used in the synthesis of Mepanipyrim 
  • Anti-Enzyme in toothpastes
  • Veterinary API : Used in the synthesis of Clopidol 
  • Precursor of dimethyl-4-pyridones
