Dimethyl Oxalate
Dimethyl Oxalate is the dimethyl ester of oxalic acid and is a white solid which is soluble in water. Dimethyl oxalate (and the related diethyl ester) can be used in diverse condensation reactions.
Applications
- For alkylation and in the cosmetics industry as a chelating age
- In the production of agrochemicals such as pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides, as well as in pharmaceuticals and as a solvent and plasticiser.
Shelf Life
Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is 24 months.
