Nickel fluoride tetrahydrate

Nickel fluoride is a water insoluble Nickel source and an ionic compound of nickel and fluorine. It forms yellowish to green tetragonal crystals.

Unlike many fluorides, NiF2 is stable in air.

Applications

For use in oxygen-sensitive applications, such as metal production.
In the surface passivation, forming nickel alloys in the presence of hydrogen fluoride or elemental fluorine,
As a catalyst for the synthesis of chlorine pentafluoride.

Under proper storage conditions, the shelf life is 12 months
